Overview
Kao offers different plans to match your needs. Each plan unlocks higher limits and additional features like more rotations, sync groups, backups, and custom emotes.
Viewing Plans
- Go to Billing in your dashboard, or visit the Pricing page
- Compare plans side by side
- See what each plan includes: emoji limits, rotation count, sync groups, backup storage, and more
Subscribing
Credit Card (Stripe)
- Select a plan
- Choose Monthly or Yearly billing
- Click Subscribe
- Complete checkout through Stripe's secure payment page
- Your plan activates immediately
Cryptocurrency (NowPayments)
- Select a plan
- Choose your billing interval
- Click Pay with Crypto
- Select your cryptocurrency
- Complete payment through NowPayments
- Your plan activates once the payment confirms
Yearly billing offers a discount compared to monthly.
Managing Your Subscription
From the Billing page you can:
- View your current plan and features
- See your next billing date
- Cancel or change your subscription
- View payment history
Canceling
When you cancel:
- Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period
- After that, you return to the free tier
- Your data (collections, rotations, etc.) is preserved, but features beyond free limits become inactive
Changing Plans
Upgrade or downgrade anytime:
- Go to Billing
- Select a different plan
- The change takes effect immediately (upgrades) or at the end of the billing period (downgrades)
Coupons
If you have a coupon code:
- Enter it during checkout
- The discount applies to your purchase
- Coupon types: percentage off, fixed amount off, or extended trial
Free Trial
Some plans offer a free trial:
- Try the plan before committing
- No payment required during the trial period
- You'll be notified before the trial ends
Each user can only trial a given plan once.
Plan Limits
Plans control limits on features like:

| Custom Emotes | Emotes created with the Emote Creator |
| Import Rate | How many emotes you can import per day |
When you hit a limit, the dashboard shows an upgrade prompt with details.
Troubleshooting
Payment Failed
- Check that your card details are correct
- Try a different payment method
- For crypto, ensure you sent the correct amount to the correct address
Plan Not Activating
- Crypto payments may take several minutes to confirm
- Check the payment status on the Billing page
- If the issue persists, contact support on Discord
Features Locked After Subscribing
- Try refreshing the page
- Sign out and back in to refresh your session
- Check that the subscription shows as active on the Billing page
